Steve Bannon, a former strategist for Trump, went full conspiracy theorist with Alex Jones when he said that the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago was part of a “deep state” plot to kill Donald Trump or find evidence against him.
Bannon, who had just been found guilty of disrespecting Congress, went on InfoWars to continue his rant against the FBI’s search of the former president’s home.
“I don’t think it’s out of the question for this administrative state and their deep state machinery to try to kill President Trump,” Bannon said. “It’s all on the table. I think his safety should be as good as it’s ever been, and to be honest… I think he should have flown to Mar-a-Lago this morning, walked out at noon, and said, “Hey, I’m running for President of the United States.” Don’t do that.'”
Bannon then said that Trump’s video on Truth Social that strongly hinted at a new run for president was not important. He also said, “They’re trying to shut down InfoWars.” He was talking about the almost $50 million Jones has to pay the Sandy Hook parents who sued him for slander.
Bannon called the raid on Mar-a-Lago a “desecration.” He eventually came up with the theory, which is still up for debate, that the raid was done to find the 15 boxes of classified documents that Trump took with him when he left the White House. Bannon said that the raid was “either a fishing trip or a planting trip.” I wouldn’t be surprised if they planted something.”
Former NYPD commissioner Bernard Kerik, who was also pardoned by Trump like Bannon, said that Democrats might try to kill Trump after the raid.
